the Donkey bar boot

I took part in the 3rd Donkey Bar Boot that took place at The Donkey pub in Leicester. It is more than a pub though, its a great venue for live music from the internationally known to the new local artists that play their every night. But I wanted to talk about a clever woman called Zoe who  thought it would be a great idea to use the bar to hold a weekly bizarre emporium! And more importantly at a time thats more friendly to the younger generation! No 7am sunday mornings any more...

Every Saturday 12-4.30pm you can find a great place to shop for vintage clothes, handmade items and 2nd hand furniture amongst your usual bric and brac. Its such a great location, they have a beautiful outside space with rose covered trellises, brightly coloured picnic benches and pop colour park lamps. It was beautiful and while the sun was out they threw on a BBQ too!

I had such a nice time, it was a quieter week because the weather was unpredictable but I will be definitely having a stall again. Its developing quickly, having 22 stalls in its first week alone. The vision for this place is to become a well known place in Leicester to shop on a Saturday afternoon.  A year from now I'm sure it will be hard to get a stall but for now there are plenty of opportunities. So follow The Donkey Bar Boot on facebook and leave a message on the wall if your interested in having a stall. On the other hand, its completely free to come browse (and you can enjoy a pint as you do)!

Here was my first ever stall/shop !

I was selling some of my tea party collection, a few vintage dresses and the usual bric and brac. I also had some handmade items, owl pin cushions,  needle cases and aprons all made from vintage fabric and recycled materials.

I'm definitely doing it again, seriously go down and have a look! x
